How to Kill the First Boss on Resistance 2

In "Resistance 2," you play as veteran fighter Nathan Hale, who travels to the United States after England is ravaged by an alien attack. The aliens, called Chimera, have infected him with a virus that will turn him into one of them in just a few days. The first level of the game, set in San Francisco, tasks you with escorting a doctor from a flooding building to safety. At the end of the level, the doctor is rescued, but you need to take down a vicious Kraken before you are able to escape.

Instructions

- 1
  Take the elevator to the top floor of the building once you are given the "Evacuate the Base" task. A scene plays, and you are automatically given the pulse cannon, a very powerful weapon.

  Run around the platform in circles, never standing in the same place for long. The Kraken tries to attack you by swiping at you with its tentacles.

  Aim the pulse cannon at the Kraken when it backs away from the platform. When you hear the pulse cannon beeping, it is ready to shoot. Fire it at the Kraken to damage it.

  Wait for the Kraken to charge towards you. If your gun has fully recharged, shoot it when the Kraken grabs onto the platform. The Kraken grabs you with its tentacles.

  Shoot the Kraken with the cannon as soon as possible. If you wait too long, it swallows you whole, and you will need to start the battle over.
- 6
  Continue shooting the Kraken until it dies. It normally takes around 12 shots from the pulse cannon to kill it.
