How to Get the Ring of Avarice in Demon's Souls

"Demon's Souls" is a critically lauded role-playing game for the PlayStation 3. In it, your avatar ventures deep into several foreboding, desolate areas in search of "souls," the game's main currency, used both to purchase items, such as the Ring of Avarice, and to upgrade your character. This game has been both praised and lambasted for its crushing difficulty. Having an item like the Ring of Avarice, a wearable token that allows your character to reap more souls after killing an enemy demon, can help turn the tide of battle in your favor.

Instructions

  Visit the first section of the level "Tower of Latria."

  Venture out of the cell you start in and proceed to the right past the cells. Kill the Mind Flayer that is patrolling and continue to the side across from where you started. Walk through the tunnel into the next chamber of cells.

  Pick up the key located at the end of the walkway in this section and return to where you began. Be wary of Mind Flayers, as they can kill in a single hit, as well as paralyze.

  Open the locked gate to the left of where you started, and proceed up any stairs you encounter. Continue walking past cells and dodging Mind Flayers until you hear eerie singing.

  Follow the sound of the singing until you reach a large, open cell along a darkly lit pathway. Inside is the Once Royal Mistress. She sells several items, including the Ring of Avarice for 50,000 souls. If you do not have enough souls, continue killing enemies and harvesting souls. Any souls you have in your inventory can also be used to increase your current soul count.
