How to Defeat the Third Boss in Demon's Souls

"Demon's Souls" is a PlayStation 3 exclusive, action role-playing game. It is set in a fantasy world where the player must defeat demons brought forth by a strange fog that has overtaken the land of Boletaria. Players begin the game within the Boletarian Palace, which has been overrun by demons and their minions. Fighting your way through the palace and defeating the first two bosses, Phalanx and the Tower Knight, will eventually lead you to Penetrator. Penetrator is an armored samurai-demon with a large sword, who uses his sword for sweeping and stabbing attacks that can penetrate any shield.

Instructions

- 1
  Do not focus on blocking Penetrator's attacks, as you will take damage regardless of shield strength. His attacks are fairly slow, so move in for an attack between his sword attacks.

  Roll through his standard attacks and receive no damage. However, when his sword begins to glow, this indicates an unblockable sword stab that must be avoided. You must recognize when he is about to perform this move and retreat until the move is complete.

  Walk around the room firing arrows, when not rolling or dodging. Try to stay out of range of the penetrating, stabbing attack. Do not allow yourself to become backed against a wall.

  Attack with your sword immediately after he makes a stabbing attack. Attacking him in this way after any other move will likely result in another stabbing attack that can prove fatal. During melee attacks, hit him once if you have a slow weapon, and twice if you have a faster weapon. Retreat to resume arrow attacks.

  Repeatedly alternate between arrow attacks and melee attacks, roll through sword attacks, and avoid the glowing sword stabbing attack. Penetrator will fall eventually and give up his soul.
