Instructions
Turn on your PlayStation 3, and make sure your TV is also turned on and displaying your PS3.
Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port located on the back of your PS3, and plug the other end into your broadband modem. If you are using a router, plug the other end into an available port on the router instead of the modem.
Open "Network Settings" on your PS3 menu. It is located in the "Settings" section of the crossbar, and the icon looks like a small toolbox.
Select "Internet Connection Settings." Select "Yes" if a warning notifies you of disconnection. Select "Easy" on the setup method screen. The PS3 will now configure your Internet connection. Save the settings to finalize the process.
Select "Test Connection" if you want to ensure that the connection was successful. Afterward, exit the settings menu and continue playing with your PS3 normally.
