How to Fill the Meter Up for Eidolons in FF XIII

"Final Fantasy XIII" was released for the PlayStation 3 in 2010. The game differs from previous "Final Fantasy" games in many ways, including the method by which you summon spells, or eidolons as they are called in the game. Eidolons, when used, are giant monsters that will cause great harm to your enemy. In order to use an Eidolon, you will first need to make it yield to you in combat by filling up its Eidolon bar. There are six Eidolon fights in "Final Fantasy XIII."

  Select "Techniques" from the battle menu on the left side of the screen.

  Select "Libra." Libra will tell you what the Eidolon will yield to. For example, the Eidolon Shiva will yield to a fighter who shows defense.

  Use the moves that corresponds to what the Eidolon is looking for to fill its meter that appears directly above them. For example, guarding an attack from Shiva will cause the meter on the bottom of the bar to fill.

  Press "Square" when the bar is full to make the Eidolon submit to you, ending the fight.
