How to Get Free Stuff on PlayStation Home

If you have a device that is connected to the Sony PlayStation Network, you have the opportunity to take advantage of some of the free offers available to people with access to PlayStation Home. To access the free giveaways that Sony has, you will need a PS3 and an Internet connection. From there, you will have the option to browse the offers to see if there are any that interest you.

  Choose PlayStation Home from your XMB menu that appears when you first turn on the PlayStation. In the subsequent menu that pops up, go to the far right to the "Shop" category, and then scroll down to select the mall. Some of the stores offer free outfit content. You can check out Threads II, as well as the Costumes store to get some clothes for your avatar. As long as you have accessed Home before, you should not need to sign in. Otherwise, you may be prompted to set up an avatar before you can start browsing.

  Play games at the Midway. If you play any of the wide selection of games long enough, you can earn more free prizes and unlockables for your avatar in the PlayStation Home Universe.

  Play games that feature PlayStation Home bonus items which unlock for completing certain achievements within the game. There are several PlayStation 3 games that include this as a feature. As of January 2011, these games include White Knight Chronicles, PixelJunk Shooter, Street Fighter IV and others.

  Attend the special events that PlayStation holds through the Home platform. They feature multiplayer event games that are playable online over PSN, and also have special promotional and launch events for games that may be coming out for the system. If you attend these events, you may find yourself awarded with special prizes and access to other free content.
