Direction Buttons
Tap the "Up" button on the directional pad to display your cell phone, and tap it again to answer a call. Tap the "Down" button to skip a phone call. Tap it a third time to hide your cell phone.
Tap the left and right directional buttons to change radio stations when you are in a vehicle. When you are on foot, tap them to change the weapon you are holding.
Steer your car with the left analog stick. Click it down by pressing the stick into the controller, as if it were a button, to sound your car horn. When you are on foot, use it to run forwards and backwards, and from side to side. Click it down to crouch. Use the right analog stick to rotate the camera when you are in your car, and to turn the character when you are on foot. Click it down to look behind you, both in-car and on foot.
Face Buttons
Press the triangle button to enter a vehicle you are standing near. Press the triangle again to exit the vehicle.
Press the "O" button to reload your weapon when you are on foot. You can also press it to hang up cell phone calls.
Hold the "X" button to run, or tap it repeatedly to sprint. You can also tap "X" to answer a cell phone call. Press "X" when you are in a vehicle to apply the brake.
Tap the square button to change which weapon you use when you are in your vehicle. Hold it down to turn on your vehicle headlights. While on foot, tap the square button to jump and climb.
Shoulder Buttons
Tap "L1" to pick up items like money and weapons when you are on foot. When you are in a vehicle, tap it or hold it down to fire your weapon.
Pull "L2" down gently to aim your weapon when you are on foot, and pull it down completely to lock on to a target. Hold it down to brake and reverse when you are in a vehicle.
Tap "R1" on foot to take cover behind objects, and tap it again to leave your cover. Hold it down when you are in a vehicle to apply the brake.
Hold down "R2" to fire your weapon when you are on foot. In a vehicle, hold it down to accelerate.
