How to Get a Boost Chain in Burnout Paradise

"Burnout Paradise" is an unusual racing game in so far as that it doesn't put players on a predefined course. Instead, they can race around a large and open environment. This sort of nonlinear game play forces players to explore, discover shortcuts and memorize the layout of complicated maps. Another feature of "Burnout Paradise" is the implementation of boosts, which give your car a temporary surge of speed. If you link several of these boosts together in a sequence, you make a boost chain, which unlocks trophies and awards.

     Get in a speed car. The game's vehicles are divided into six categories, including stunt cars and aggressive cars. Speed cars are the only ones that can get boost chains.

     Drive through a gas station to fill your boost bar and immediately execute a boost.

     Launch your car off a ramp or other uneven terrain to perform a stunt. This will refill your boost bar again. Continually do this until you reach another gas station. Your goal is to use a boost at least once every 10 seconds to keep the chain going.
