One-Weapon Specialization
In "White Knight Chronicles," each character is equipped with eight different weapons, all of which start at very low power. The sword, spear, axe, longsword, bow and staff are physical weapons; the divine magic and elemental magic are magical weapons. You can distribute skill points earned as you level up among the weapons in any way you choose. However, putting all your skill points into the various aspects of one weapon can help you level up more efficiently, as you'll have at least one superior weapon equipped at all times. After upgrading one weapon to the maximum, you can move on to the next weapon.
Balanced Weapons
"White Knight Chronicles" is set in a hybrid of an ancient real world and a magical world; this is reflected in the variety of weapons. The game makes you fight a wide variety of enemies and monsters, some of which require strong magic to fight properly. Therefore, you achieve level-ups more rapidly if you have one strong physical weapon and one strong magical weapon. With one physical weapon already maxed out, begin placing your skill points in either a divine magic or elemental magic weapon. Don't divide the points, but rather place all skill points in one weapon until that weapon is maxed out. This method gives you balanced weapons that help you take on various types of enemies, allowing for more efficient leveling.
Party Building
Build your party to complement your character. Your party accompanies you in battles, and although you won't be able to assume control of each character during battle, you'll be able to direct the party as a whole with commands like "Gang Up" or "Fall Back." Your personal character has access to each of the game's eight weapons, but the other characters in your party won't have access to every weapon. Focus on building a balanced party for the fastest leveling. Ideally, a party with two characters specializing in swords or spears (Caesar and Leonard, for example) two characters skilled in healing (Yulie and Eldore, for example) and two who are focused on damage dealing with strong weapons like the axe (Caesar, Eldore, or Leonard, for example) form the most balanced party. While you can't command the characters individually, they'll use their skills as needed to help defeat enemies during the battle automatically. A well-balanced party lets you take on both physical and magical attacks with confidence and helps you level more quickly.
Exploring
"White Knight Chronicles" lets you wander freely, and virtually every area of the game can be explored. When entering a new area, whether it's a wide-open expanse of grass or an underground mine, enemies automatically engage in battle with you. With every battle, you gain experience points, so you need to engage in as many battles as you can. Wandering around to all the unexplored areas is important so you can get into every possible battle. More battles equates to more experience points and higher leveling.
