How to Join PS3 Game Files

Depending on the software you use, your PlayStation 3 game files may become split when you back them up to your PC. To join the gaming files into one large file, use PS3Merge. Created by Karmian, PS3Merge is a free desktop application and you can download it from the company̵7;s official site. As of November 2011, it's the only utility that's capable of merging PS3 game files.

Instructions

  Navigate to karmian.org. Click "Projects" from the menu and then "PS3Merge." Click the "Download" link on the left and then click to download the latest version of PS3Merge.

  Double-click the downloaded file to install the program. Launch PS3Merge.

  Click the ̶0;Execute̶1; button on the main menu. The Browse for Folder dialog box appears. Select the folder that contains the split PS3 files and click ̶0;OK.̶1; The program will scan the folder and display a list of split files on the main screen.

  Click the ̶0;Options̶1; button. Depending on your preference, you can save the original split files or delete them after the merging process. Check the box next to the Delete Original Files or Leave Original Files option to select your preference. Click the back arrow icon in the upper right corner of the screen to return to the main menu.

  Select the files you want to merge and click the ̶0;Execute̶1; button to join the game files. When the process is complete, the newly merged file is saved to the original folder containing the split files.
