How to Burn Any PS3 Game to an HDD

You can save a backup copy of your PS3 games to a hard drive or USB flash drive in case the game disc is lost or damaged. Using a ̶0;swap̶1; disc, you can copy your PS3 games to a hard drive or external device in a matter of minutes.

Instructions

      Go to the SKSApps website and download the USB Advance and USB Extreme applications. Save the two applications to a folder on your computer.

      Click ̶0;Start,̶1; then select ̶0;Computer.̶1; Go to the folder where you saved the USB Advance and USB Extreme files. Right-click the ̶0;USBAdvance̶1; file name and select ̶0;Extract Here.̶1; Wait a few seconds for Windows to extract the files into a new sub-folder. Extract the ̶0;Extreme̶1; file using the same method. Delete the original USB Advance and USB Extreme files after you extract the contents.

      Cut and paste the two sub-folders to the ̶0;C:\̶1; root folder in Windows Explorer.

      Open the disc tray of your computer̵7;s optical burner drive. Insert a blank CD and close the drive tray door. Launch the CD authoring application and burn the two sub-folders onto the blank disc.

      Connect the external hard drive to an open USB port if you want to burn the PS3 games to an external drive.

      Insert the PS3 game disc you want to burn into the optical drive of your computer.

      Click the ̶0;Start̶1; button and type ̶0;cmd̶1; in the search box at the bottom of the Start menu. Press the Enter key. At the command prompt, type ̶0;C:\̶1; and press Enter.

      Enter the following command at the prompt to copy the PS3 from the game disc to the selected hard drive:

      ̶0;ul_install [OrignalDisc][SaveDisk][GameName][MediaType]̶1;

      Change ̶0;[OriginalDisc]̶1; to the drive letter for your CD/DVD drive as shown in Windows Explorer. Replace ̶0;[SaveDisk]̶1; with the drive letter for the hard drive to which you want to copy the game. Change ̶0;[GameName]̶1; to the complete title name of the game you want to copy. Replace ̶0;[MediaType]̶1; with ̶0;CD̶1; or ̶0;DVD̶1; depending upon the type of disc used for the original game.
