How to Stop a Spinning Camera With a PS3 Controller

Many video games use a spinning camera effect in specific scenes to give viewers the feeling of uncertainty, chaos or fear. If you encounter this effect in a video game you are playing on your PlayStation 3 console, there is a way to counter the effect with your controller. Once you provide the counter command with the controller, the spinning camera will stop and you can resume gameplay.

Instructions

  Press the ̶0;Start̶1; button on your PS3 controller to pause the game as soon as your view starts spinning. Select the ̶0;Options̶1; and then ̶0;Controls̶1; menus to determine which button, stick or trigger on your controller controls camera motion. Once you find out, press the ̶0;Back̶1; button to return to the game.

  Push and hold the button or stick, or pull and hold the trigger until the camera angle stops spinning. If it starts spinning again when you release it, repeat this step and simultaneously move your game character to a different spot.

  Resume playing your PS3 game as normal. If you find yourself in a similar position later on in the game, repeat Step 2 to stop the spinning camera again.
