How to Get to Activate the Helicopter in Need for Speed for the PS3

"Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit" for the PlayStation 3 gives you the chance to operate on both sides of the law in Career Mode. As an outlaw, your goal is to race around a given track while you evade pursuing police officers, both in cars and in helicopters. Conversely, when you play as the police, you gain the ability to dispatch helicopters in pursuit of outlaw vehicles. This ability is not available from the start; it is unlocked only when you reach a certain point in the game.

Instructions

  Play through the game until you have completed the Summit Assault event in Eagle Crest. This event takes place in Career Mode; in it, you must control a police vehicle in pursuit of a speeding car. Successful completion of the event unlocks Rockingham Point.

  Play the first event in Rockingham Point. The event is called Eye in the Sky, and it is the first event that adds airborne support -- helicopters -- to your inventory.

  Press "Up" on the directional pad to activate a helicopter. The onscreen indicator will let you know how many helicopters you have at your disposal. Some helicopters are equipped with road spikes, which they try to drop in front of the outlaw vehicles.
