How to Use an AV Modifier

"Fallout 3" is a role-playing game in which players must wander through a post-apocalyptic wasteland in an effort to return clean water to their region. Before you begin playing, you must create your playable character by giving him a set number of skill points. While playing, you can collect and use items that can temporarily (or permanently) modify those skills. These items are known as Ability Value Modifiers (AVM) and are easy to use in-game.

Instructions

  Find and keep any ability-modifying items you come across on your quest. All ability-modifying items contain added effects that either add to or take away from the following stats: INT, CHR, PER, LK, STR, END or AGL.

  Select the item in your Pip-Boy menu, then press the "X" button to use the item on yourself. The item will provide a temporary ability adjustment, affecting your core stat and related skills.

  Collect bobble-heads to permanently increase your stats. A bobble-head exists in the game for each core stat and each skill. The bobble-head, when found, will automatically add one point to your core stat and 10 points to your skill.
