How to Get the Lava Material in Little Big Planet

"Little Big Planet" is a creation game where players can edit and manipulate the game world to create their own unique stages. In creation mode, you can use a variety of tools to change game objects. One such object is lava. Lava is not actually in the game; in order to make a lava material, you must use a glitch. Once you have successfully gotten the lava material, you can save it to your creation menu to use later, without the need of the glitch.

Instructions

  Load "Little Big Planet" and select the "My Moon" from the main menu, choose to load a new level or enter an already existing one.

  Open your Popit menu by pressing "Square" and select the "Goodies Bag." Go to the category "Collected Objects" and underneath the "Dangerous Creatures" tab choose the "Hanging Snapping Claw" enemy.

  Place the Hanging Snapping Claw in your level by attaching it to a small square of Black Matter so it will float.

  Open your Tool Bag in the Popit menu and select the "Dissolve Tool." Apply the Dissolve Tool to every part of the Hanging Snapping Claw except the fiery core in its mouth.

  Open the Tool Bag and select the "Unlethalize Tool" and use it on the fiery core of the Hanging Snapping Claw. This will make the lava material.

  Select a switch to place in the game from the Tool Bag, select the "Popit Cursor" from the Popit menu and use it to attach all of the pieces of the Hanging Snapping Claw except for the core in its mouth.

  Enter play mode and press the switch to make all the parts of the monster dissolve except its core, which you can pick up. Select the the leftover core with your Popit Cursor and make it grow bigger or change its shape.

  Open the Goodies Bag and select "Capture Object" to select the lava material and save it to your Goodies Bag. Now you can use the lava material whenever you desire.
