How to Hook Up a Terabyte to PS3

You can hook up your Terabyte external hard drive to your PlayStation 3 console to view videos, photos and play music stored on the drive. The PS3 features multiple USB ports that allows you to connect additional devices directly to your game console and is designed to playback a number of digital formats such as MP4, AVI, AVCHD, DiVX and WMV.

      Turn off the PS3 before hooking up the drive.

      Plug the USB cable from the terabyte hard drive into one of the USB ports on the side of the game console.

      Turn on the PS3 and your TV. Scroll to the "Movies" "Music" or "Photos" option in the on-screen menu and press "X." Highlight the "USB Device" option and press "Triangle." Scroll to the "Display All" option and press "X" to open the content from the hard drive on your PS3.
