How to Get a Backspin in Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds

"Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds" is the 2008 edition of the long running "Hot Shots Golf" game series. Players control cartoonish characters on multiple golf courses. They can also control their shots, including adding backspin. Adding backspin will make your ball fly backwards or roll backwards, getting it away from trees or sand traps. Getting a backspin is a simple process that most players should be able to handle quickly.

Instructions

- 1
  Press the "X" button to start the shot. Watch the power meter begin filling with red colors. These colors indicate the power of your back swing. The more red there is, the more powerful your swing will be.

  Hit the "X" button again when you have the power you want to use to begin swinging your club forward.

  Press the "X" button just as the ball is getting hit by your club to get a good straight shot. Hit it sooner or later to curve the shot itself.

  Push the "Down" button on the control pad at the same time you hit the "X" button to create backspin on your ball.

  Hold the "Down" button as your ball flies to create more backspin. Release the "Down" button at any point to keep the power of your backspin at its current level. Wait for the ball to land to see the results.
