How to Change Your Rod in PS3's Pro Bass Fishing

"Rapala Pro Bass Fishing" is a fishing simulation game for the PlayStation 3 that allows for a great deal of customization in your fishing excursions. The game has a plethora of challenges and missions for you to complete, and it provides you with a default starting rod with which to tackle them. However, the rod may not be enough to hook some of the game's biggest fishes, which you need to catch in order to complete the game's harder challenges. To have a better chance of catching them, you will need to change to one of the stronger rods, which are typically earned by completing challenges and missions.

Instructions

  Start "Rapala Pro Bass Fishing" and, preferably, load a saved game in which you have completed multiple challenges and missions. Each time you complete one, you will unlock additional equipment to purchase, including new fishing rods.

  Press the "X" button on "Shop" in the main menu to enter the game's store area. All of the items you have unlocked will be available for purchase in the Shop menu. By default, the fishing rods tab will already be selected.

  Scan through the list of available rods and press the "X" button twice to purchase one of them. Once you've purchased the rod, you will need to equip it to your character.

  Navigate to the "My Equipment" option in the main menu. All of the equipment you have purchased or won will be displayed in tabs, and the tab for your fishing rods will automatically open first.

  Select the rod you want to use and press the "X" button to equip it. The rod will then be equipped to your character for all future fishing excursions, unless you equip a different rod to him.
