How to Get Banned From PS3 for Playing Modern Warfare 2

When engaging in any online community, it is always best to know the rules. If you are playing "Modern Warfare 2" on the PlayStation Network, you should be aware of the sorts of behavior that can get you kicked out of the game. Even if your bad behavior is limited to "MW2," engaging in offensive behavior or unauthorized activities can get you banned from the entire network. In some cases, this ban is permanent. Though no two players' actions are entirely alike, there are a few general types of behavior that are best avoided.

  Hack "Modern Warfare 2" to enable cheat codes. Since "MW2" is primarily played on multiplayer servers, cheating affects the gameplay of everyone on the server. Setting up a hacked "MW2" server within the PlayStation Network will quickly result in a ban.

  Hack your PS3 console to allow the use of pirated versions of "MW2" or any other game. If you are caught using pirated software, or if you have modified your console's security features to enable it to run pirated software, this will result in a permanent ban. This includes both software-based hacks and hardware-based hacks.

  Bully, grief or harass other players. The PlayStation Network does not tolerate behavior that makes other players feel uncomfortable or unsafe. While a bit of friendly trash-talking is expected in an online gaming environment, the PlayStation Network does not tolerate sexual harassment, hate speech, impersonating other users or planning/encouraging illegal activities. Users can file reports if a player has broken any of these rules. Once a report is filed, the claims will be reviewed by a PlayStation Network customer service representative. Depending on the severity of the situation, this could result in either a temporary suspension or permanent ban.
