How to Make Interesting LittleBigPlanet Levels

Decide what type of level you want to build. Creating a level and only deciding at the end that you want to to be a two-player level will make it seem tacked on. Similarly, an action level and an artistic will be built much differently. If you have a core concept for your level, it will come together much better.

Take advantage of LittleBigPlanet's strong character and atmosphere. LittleBigPlanet levels, at their best, are stunning to the senses. Use sound effects, lighting, music, and effects to create a unique and memorable level.

Balance the difficulty in your level. If the interest in your level comes from its atmosphere and story, you might not want to make the level too difficult. On the other hand, if you want to create an action-packed level that players feel a sense of accomplishment for completing, feel free to crank up the difficulty with electrified ceilings and floors, spike pits and crushers.

Add something original to your level. A huge number of "LittleBigPlanet" levels reside on the PlayStation Network, and many of them use similar layouts and designs. If you want to make your level stand out, you'll need to bring something new to the table.

Test any mechanisms in your level before finish. The more complex the mechanism, and the more precise it has to be, the more tinkering and adjustment will be necessary. Players will lose interest in a level if it is buggy, because play becomes frustrating.
