Instructions
Place the square of origami paper on a flat surface in front of you. Turn it so that it looks like a diamond, rather than a square. Fold the top point down to meet the bottom point and crease along the fold.
Unfold the fold you made in step one so that you again have a diamond. Fold the right point to meet the left point, and crease along the fold. Unfold this as well so that you have a diamond with a cross of creases in the center.
Fold in all four corners so that the points meet the vertical center crease. You should now have a smaller square. Turn the square over so that the flaps are all facing down and the solid side is facing up.
Fold in the four corners of the square to the vertical crease again to create an even smaller square. Each time you fold in corners, avoid overlapping any of the paper edges. Turn the square over and fold in the four corners again in the same manner.
Turn the square over. Slip your finger inside of one corner flap and pull up gently until the corner stands straight up. Fold the flap backward so that it lays flat and repeat this process on the flap diagonally across from the first.
Pick up the lower point of each unopened corner flap. Pull gently to open the paper up. Press the two flaps that you opened in step five flat again if they lift.
Turn the paper over and fold the four innermost corners down again. Next, fold in the corners right above the ones you just finished. There should be two ̶0;wings̶1; pointing upward once this is done correctly.
Arrange the figure so that the two ̶0;wings̶1; lay flat with a small, flat square beneath them. Pick up the figure and hold it upside-down with the ̶0;wings̶1; facing downward. Open up the small square at the top with your fingers to form a flat surface with a tab on either side.
Repeat steps one through eight twice more so that you have three identical figures. Pick up one figure and slide your finger between the two layers of one tab to open it slightly. Slip one tab of the second figure into the pocket you have created.
Place the compound figure on a flat surface with the legs, formerly the ̶0;wings,̶1; facing downward. Pick up the last unattached figure and press the small square portion flat again. Create a pocket from one of the outside tabs on the compound figure and slide the small square of the final figure inside of it to create a head with pointed ears.
