How to Access Mass Effect: Genesis Interactive Comics for the PS3

The "Mass Effect" series storyline is dependent on player input. Even small decisions can affect the outcome of the game. PC and Xbox 360 players of "Mass Effect 2" had the option to import their characters from the first "Mass Effect" title. As the first "Mass Effect" is not available for PlayStation, PlayStation 3 players do not have this option. To give PS3 players the same level of customization, BioWare offered the "Mass Effect: Genesis" interactive comic as a free download. "Genesis" lets users make choices regarding the storyline from "Mass Effect" that will affect the "Mass Effect 2" game.

Instructions

    • 1

Start a new game within "Mass Effect 2." Before you begin, make sure your game has established a connection to the Cerberus Network. This connection is automatically established once the game detects an Internet connection. A successful connection to the network will be displayed onscreen through a monitor on Commander Shepard's desk that is pictured on the main menu.

    • 2

Create a new Commander Shepard. You can choose one of the default models or customize the character through the character creation screen. Once confirming your character choices, the game begins.

    • 3

Watch the game introduction. After witnessing the destruction of the Normandy, the "Genesis" comic loads automatically. Work through the comic and make choices regarding the storyline. These choices are imported into your "Mass Effect 2" game and affect the storyline accordingly.
