How to Remove the Gas in Batman Arkham Asylum on the PS3

In "Batman: Arkham Asylum," the maniacal Riddler tests your puzzle-solving ability by challenging you to find the trophies he hid on the asylum grounds. After you escape the Penitentiary, you can return there to find the trophies you missed. Toxic gas fills the Guard Room, though. Unless you clear out the gas, you cannot enter the Guard Room to find the Riddler's trophies. To get rid of the gas, use your Batarang to turn on the ventilation system.

Instructions

- 1
  Head to the Penitentiary on the northwest side of Arkham Island. Walk north until you reach a junction. Walk down the left hallway until you reach the Guard Room.

  Look up to see a ventilation shaft above the two guards. Grapple up to the ventilation shaft and face the wall in front of you.
- 3
  Press "L2" to use Detective Mode. Find the cracks in the wall, then cover the wall with explosive gel. Press "R1" to detonate the gel.

  Switch to the Ultra Batclaw and use it to destroy the next wall. Use the Line Launcher to move to the other side of the room.
- 5
  Throw a Batarang at the control panel next to the bookshelf. The gas shuts off.
