"Grand Theft Auto IV" features large environments for users to explore and wreak havoc on, but it also includes a detailed storyline for users who are interested in the character and his background. To help tell the story, cut scenes are shown when you encounter an important moment in the game. If you're not interested in the story, these cut scenes do nothing more than cut into your playing time. Rather than wait for a cut scene to end, you can skip it and get back to the action.

Open your saved game.

Play the campaign as normal and continue to progress through the game. When you start a new mission or a significant event happens in the game, a cut scene begins to play.

Press the "X" button on the PS3 controller to skip the cut scene. If you are playing on Xbox 360, press the "A" button on the controller.
