Start a Bar Fight
Most towns in Red Dead Redemption are home to a bar where the locals gather to drink, gamble and get into trouble with the law. Go to a bar in a town like Armadillo or Thieves' Landing. Throw a punch at any of the bar patrons to get the fight started. Run around the bar punching more patrons until they are all chasing you. If one of the patrons punches another, they start to fight each other, causing an all-out brawl. If you leave the bar, the patrons chase you and start firing their pistols. When the sheriffs arrive, step back and watch them take care of the fighters.
Hunting Animals
Bears, coyotes and cougars love to tear you off your horse and maul you. If you have a gun on hand, it is possible to hunt these beasts. Hunting is safest when you are riding a horse, but for a real test of skill, stand your ground and use a knife. Small animals, such as rabbits and birds, go down quickly, but killing grizzly bears is a real challenge. After you kill an animal, you can skin it to get hides, claws, teeth and other parts. Sell these parts at a shop for extra cash. You also get a trophy, "Unnatural Selection," when you kill one of each animal type.
Gambling
In single-player mode, gambling takes place in or near a saloon. Such games as poker, blackjack and liar's dice are available. You have to wager some of your money to play, but if you win, you can double or triple your bet. If you have the Gentleman's Attire, an outfit given when you sign up for the Rockstar Social Club, you can play high stakes poker. High stakes poker is only played on the second floor of the Blackwater hotel. In multiplayer mode, you can play gambling games with real-life players over the PlayStation Network.
Be Evil
Playing the hero is the easiest way to complete Red Dead Redemption. If you behave badly, though, the game becomes a challenge. Townspeople hate you and sheriffs chase you relentlessly. Get the sheriff's attention in town by running over people with your horse or setting buildings on fire. Shoot the sheriffs to gain notoriety and become the most wanted man in New Austin. Soon, the U.S. Marshals appear to take you down. If you can escape them while riding on a Hungarian Half-Breed horse, you get the trophy "Heading South on a White Bronco."
