How to Beat Odin in FF13

When playing Final Fantasy 13, you will reach a point where Lightning encounters the Odin Eidolon while crossing the bridge to an animal breeding facility maintained by the Guardian Corps. Although this is your second Eidolon battle, it is the first that requires teamwork to win. Once you have defeated Odin, Lightning will gain the ability to summon during battle when she is the party leader.

Instructions

  Press the Triangle button before crossing the bridge and change your paradigm options. Set your default paradigm to Lightning as a medic and Hope as a synergist. Set your second paradigm to Lightning as a ravager and Hope as a ravager; then set a third paradigm where Lightning and Hope are both medics.

  Press the "L1" button on your controller ,and select a shroud using the left control stick. Press "X" on your controller to apply the shroud.

  Step onto the bridge to engage a battle with Odin.

  Press "L1," and select the paradigm that has both characters as ravagers until Odin begins preparing for an attack. This will be evidenced by him preparing his sword and moving toward a character. When this happens, switch to the paradigm where both Lightning and Hope are medics to brace for the attack.

  Switch back to the dual ravager paradigm when the attack stops, and repeat this process until the meter below Odin's name is full. Press the square button to claim victory and defeat Odin.
