How to Intercept a Pass on Madden 2011 on the PS3

One of the most basic plays you can learn in the Madden series is the intercept. An interception occurs when a defensive team member catches a passed ball before it can get to its intended recipient. When an interception occurs there is an instant turnover, and the ball can be run or passed to the interceptor's team's goal for a touchdown. If you don't know how to make an interception, the process is relatively simple.

  Watch for "tells" from the offense team that show that the ball is about to be passed. A quarterback suddenly backing up, or other players getting into position downfield indicates that a pass is about to take place.

  Run to where you think the pass is intended to go and then try to juke the recipient while the ball is still in the air.

  Press and hold the triangle button to catch the ball as it descends to the ground. If the interception is complete, an "Interception!" graphic will be displayed, and you will go into an "offensive view" of play.
