How to Defeat the Snake in Harry Potter for PS3

In the "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" PlayStation video game, you must complete a series of challenges like the ones Harry and his friends face in the book and film. During one of the final stages of the game, you need to defeat and kiss the Basilisk, a giant and deadly snake that lives in the Chamber of Secrets. Though this game is designed for PS2, you can play it and defeat the snake on most PS3 consoles.

Instructions

- 1
  Move as the snake first approaches you. Once you get away from him, he should retreat momentarily.

  Pick up the sword and wait in the center of the chamber for the snake to return. He may appear out of any of the pipes.

  Stab the snake in the jaw with the sword when he opens his mouth. The snake will lie down and show its belly.
- 4
  Hit the snake again with the sword, this time using your analog stick or arrow keys to direct the force of the sword's impact. The sword will fly out of your hands.
- 5
  Retrieve the sword and hit the snake again. After four attempts, the snake will die and you can complete this stage of the game.
