How to Make a 'Call of Duty' Clan for PS3

Clans are groups of gamers that play online multiplayer games together. A clan tag on several PlayStation 3 versions of "Call of Duty" is a set of numbers or letters that come before a player's standard gamer ID, indicating that they are part of a particular clan. The groups can set up private matches against other clans and the like. "Call of Duty: World at War," "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" and "Call of Duty: Black Ops" all allow players to create their own clans.

Instructions

    • 1

Decide on a clan name. The name can be a maximum of four characters with various symbols, letters and numbers. Infinity Ward, the "Call of Duty" developer, has restricted the use of certain profane clan names.

    • 2

Boot up one of the "Call of Duty" games and go to the multiplayer lobby. Select "Barracks" and then "Edit Clan Tag" to bring up an onscreen keyboard. Enter the desired name of your clan and press "Start" to add it as a prefix to your standard gamer name.

    • 3

Have your friends do the same. There is no limit to how many people can join a clan. Just have them enter the same clan tag as you. You can also recruit other players via the Internet to grow your clan.
