How to Get a PS1 Emulator Running on PS3

The PS1 was the original PlayStation, and with thousands of games released for the PS1, many of those games are played today. Getting a PS1 emulator running on the Sony PS3 was an impossible dream up until November 2010. This was when PS3SX was released for the Sony PS3. The emulator runs directly from the PS3, playing any PS1 game ever released.

Instructions

      Download the PS3SX installation package from the developer's website. Plug a USB flash drive into the computer.

      Open the USB flash drive in the computer's file browser.

      Right-click the PS3SX installation package and click "Copy" from the context menu.

      Right-click USB flash and click "Paste." A "PKG" file will save to the USB flash drive, and a new folder named "bios" will also be created on the USB flash drive.

      Unplug the USB flash drive from the computer and insert it into the PS3. Select the "Install Package Files" option on the PS3 menu.

      Open the "PS3SX" PKG file to install the package. Select the PS3SX icon on the PS3 menu to run the PS1 emulator on the PS3.
