Master the timing. Hold the "X" button on the "PlayStation Move" controller to pick up the ball and let go of it to release at the right time. The screen guides you through the motion. If you release too early, the throw does not complete. If you let the ball go too late, it ends up in midair and then slams onto the ground, dramatically reducing your speed. Essentially, the physics are the same as real bowling.
Follow the movement. A tricky part about the game is that a fast, well-executed throw requires you to follow the on-screen character's movement. Your motion does not dictate the throw. If you do not imitate the player, your overall throw -- including speed -- will fail.
Throw with strength. Like real bowling, the strength of your throw affects the ball's speed. The "PlayStation Move" can measure strength relatively accurately in its games.
