Cheat List for Pokemon Ruby for VBA

"Pokemon Ruby," available for the Game Boy Advance, features cheats and secrets that enhance game play. These cheats unlock special Pokemon, rare items and berries the player can use to her advantage. Visiting certain areas of the game and talking to special people unlock these special Pokemon and items.

Special Berries
- To unlock special berries, visit the berry master. To find the berry master, go east past Mauville City and swim across the water using a Pokemon that knows Surf. Once on land, enter the houses until you find the berry master. Talk to the master's wife to input a variety of phrases that unlock special berries. To get the Belue berry, type "Super Hustle." To obtain the Durin berry, enter "Cool Latios." Type "Challenge Contest" to get the Pamtre berry. Enter "Great Battle" to receive the Spelon berry and "Overwhelming Latios" to get the Watmel berry.
Unlock Mystery Event
- To unlock the Mystery Event, visit the Pokemon Center in Petalburg City. Speak with the man standing near the computer. When he asks to create a new profile, select "Yes." On the following page, write the words "Mystery Event is Exciting." Save the game, and turn the Game Boy off and back on again. You will unlock the ability to catch Latias after defeating the Elite Four and the Pokemon League champion.
Unlock Rare Stones
- To unlock rare stones, you must visit the shard hunter who lives on Route 124. Access the water near Mossdeep City and collect the four different shards that are underwater. After collecting the shards, go to the shard hunter's house to turn them into stones. The stones are used to evolve a special type of Pokemon. Give him the red shard to receive the fire stone. To get the leaf stone, give him the green shard. To get the thunder stone, give the hunter the yellow shard. Give the hunter the blue shard to unlock the water stone.
Ancient Pokemon
- Two fossils in Pokemon Ruby contain ancient Pokemon. The root fossil contains a Lileep, and the claw fossil contains an Anorith. To gain these fossils, enter Route 111 and walk all the way to the right. Once you obtain the fossils, go to Rustboro City and enter the president's office. Enter the room with a lot of scientists and talk to the one located in the bottom right corner. Give him the fossil and exit the room. Re-enter after 30 seconds to receive the Pokemon. Repeat the process to gain the second Pokemon.
