How to Unlock the Heart Beat Sensor in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for the PS3

The heartbeat sensor is a weapon attachment that can be unlocked in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2." It can be mounted on assault rifles, light machine guns and sniper rifles. It works somewhat similar to the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) kill streak bonus. Almost any enemy player nearby is displayed on the sensor screen. Players using the Cold-Blooded perk, which normally renders them invisible to the UAV, are detected by the heartbeat sensor. Only players using the Ninja perk cannot be detected.

Instructions

  Choose a weapon type, except for rocket launchers. Depending on the weapon type, you need to complete the "Marksman I," "Marksman II" or "Marksman III" challenge for that weapon to get the silencer attachment. You need the silencer to get the heartbeat sensor. Assault rifles are a reliable choice due to their versatility. Sniper rifles, shotguns, handguns and machine pistols are more difficult options, but require less kills to get the silencer.

  Play in any multiplayer mode. Select the weapon you chose in Step 1 as one of the weapons you spawn with.

  Kill 10 enemies using this weapon to complete the "Marksman I" challenge. This unlocks the silencer if you are using a sniper rifle, which allows you to skip Step 4 and Step 5.

  Kill 15 more enemies with your weapon to complete the "Marksman II" challenge. The silencer is unlocked when you complete this challenge if you are using a shotgun, handgun or machine pistol.

  Kill 50 more enemies to complete the "Marksman III" challenge. This unlocks the silencer with any other weapon type.

  Kill 50 more enemies to complete the "Marksman III" challenge. This unlocks the silencer with any other weapon type.

  Kill 15 enemies with the silenced weapon to unlock the heartbeat sensor.
