How to Lower Honor in Red Dead Redemption

"Red Dead Redemption" is a video game on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles puts you in the role of John Marsden, a reformed outlaw on the hunt for his former gang partner. As Marsden, every decision you make affects the world around you. Help locals out and you gain fame and honor, but if you hurt people they will become distrustful of you. High honor has several perks such as better prices from merchants, but too much honor and everyone around will demand your help. You can do several things to lower your honor and relieve some of the hero's burden.

Instructions

    • 1

Ride your horse on a road out of town and into a less populated area. The more witnesses around during your crime, the more headaches you will have to deal with afterward.

    • 2

Keep riding until you find one or two people. You may need to wander off the road to find random encounters in the world, but keep on moving if you see too many people in one area.

    • 3

Pull out your gun and shoot the person. Killing an innocent person will result in negative 50 honor. Killing a lawman or a nun will result in negative 100.

    • 4

Kill any other people around, making sure not to let them escape. Witnesses to the crime will cause you to go on the wanted list, and bounty hunters will start coming after you. If you have no witnesses, you will lose honor but not be considered an outlaw.
