How to Find the Dead Trenches in Dragon Age: Origins

"Dragon Age: Origins" was developed by BioWare and released by Electronic Arts in 2009 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC and Mac computers. You control a customizable character on a mission to seek vengeance against your betrayer, a former general in your army. As you fight through the different areas of the game, your path lights up so that you can progress to the next area. Some paths, like the one to the Dead Trenches, will not light up unless you leave the previous area properly.

Instructions

  Defeat the Corrupted Spider Queen in the "The Deep Roads" chapter of the game. She is at the Ortan Thaig portion of the chapter. Pick up "Branka's Journal" from the ground.

  Exit the area by following the linear path forward, to the right of where you found Branka's Journal. Do not go back the way you came or the Dead Trenches path will not become unlocked. If you can't find the exit, look at your map and look to the upper right corner. Walk to the exit and leave the area.

  Look at the Overworld map after it finishes loading. The path to the Dead Trenches will appear and you should see a cursor highlighting the area.
