How to Use the Controller in Dragon Age: Origins

PlayStation 3

  Use the left analog stick to move your character and the right analog stick to move the camera around your character. Press the left analog stick to lock onto a target. Press the right analog stick to center the camera.

  Use the directional button pad to change your character's targets. This can be for enemies or friendly targets.

  Press "X" while close to a target to talk, attack or open it.

  Press the square, triangle or circle buttons for shortcuts for attacks. These shortcuts are mapped by you in the "Menu."

  Switch to your secondary battle shortcuts by pressing "R2."

  Press "L1" to go back to the previous party member and "R1" to move to the next member.

  Press and hold "L2" to open the radial menu. The radial menu provides you with options for items, such as choosing to use a poison against a targeted enemy.

  Press "Start" for the pause menu and "Select" to manage your characters and quests.

Xbox 360

  Move the left thumbstick to move your character on the screen. Press the left thumbstick to lock on an enemy target.

  Move the right thumbstick to move your camera around your character. Press the right thumbstick to center the camera.
