How to Boost the Wireless Signal to my Playstation 3

Online gaming is an enormous part of modern day video game consoles, such as the PS3. Nearly every multiplayer video game features online play. The problem with playing online games on the PS3 is that your connection has to be serviceable, and if your signal is poor, the gameplay will reflect that. The PS3 wireless signal obtains its signal from your wireless router. If there is any interference, you're going to have problems. Fortunately, you can boost your wireless signal by employing a few strategies.

Clear any obstacles and items away from your PS3 and wireless router. Ensure the two are near each another. Hiding your PS3 and router out of the way and deep in your entertainment system or computer desk looks nice, but the trade off may be a poor signal.

Stand the PS3 vertically in the PS3 vertical stand, with the "PS3" symbol on the left side of the console and the right end of the console facing up. The console should fit securely into place. If it wobbles, is lose or does not fit, it is incorrectly inserted. The PS3's antenna is located on the right end, so placing the console vertically allows for a better transmission of the wireless signal.

Cut the top off of an empty aluminum can. Wash the can thoroughly so that no sticky residue remains. Make two vertical cuts, one on the left side of the can and one on the right side of the can. Pull the hanging aluminum metal up, towards the top of the can so that it appears similar to a flower. Cut or drill a small hole in the bottom of the can and place the can over your router's antenna, with the antenna poking out the bottom of the can. Point the antenna towards your PS3.
