How to Play 2 Player Split Screen Resistance Online

Resistance 2 is the sequel to Resistance: Fall of Man, a PlayStation 3 (PS3) launch title first-person shooter (FPS) with a science fiction setting. Resistance 2 offers a number of changes from the original Resistance game, one of which is the ability to play cooperatively with another player online using a split-screen format. Playing Resistance 2 online requires a PS3 that is connected to the Internet, as well as an active PlayStation network account.

Instructions

  Load the Resistance 2 Blu-ray disc into the PS3 disc tray on the front of the console. Note that the PS3 must be turned on in order to accept a disc.

  Sign in to the PlayStation Network. Your console may be configured to sign in automatically upon startup, in which case you may skip this step. If not, allow the PS3 to fully boot up and press the right directional button on the PS3 gamepad to select the "PlayStation Network" tab, then select "Sign In" and enter your user name and password.

  Start the Resistance 2 game program. Press the left directional button on the PS3 gamepad to select "Games," then press down until the Resistance 2 disc is highlighted. Press X to start the game.

  Select "Multiplayer" from the main Resistance 2 game screen. Select "Cooperative" on the multiplayer game mode selection screen.

  Select "Find Game" to join an online split-screen game hosted by another player, or select "Create Game" to make your own online game, which allows you to invite a friend into the game.
