How to Connect a PS3 to a Computer Monitor

The Play Station 3 (PS3) is a next generation gaming console with many advanced features that allow users to enjoy never-before-seen graphics in high definition, as well as watch Blu-ray DVDs. In fact, the Play Station series of gaming consoles no longer is confined to outputting to a television. You can now take advantage of your large, high-definition monitor when playing your favorite games. Have your cable handy and get ready to output those graphics to your computer monitor.

HDMI cable
HDMI-ready computer monitor

Instructions

  Determine whether your computer monitor has support for HDMI video by referring to your owner's manual.

  Plug both the PS3 and the computer monitor into a wall socket.

  Plug the HDMI cable into the monitor's HDMI port by aligning either side with the port and pressing firmly.

  Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the "HDMI Out" port on the PS3. Press firmly on both ends of the cable to ensure that they are fully connected.

  Press "Power" on your computer monitor. To turn the PS3 on, press the "Main Power" switch.
