How to Defeat Aries on God of War

God of War is a revolutionary role playing game for the PS3 that has garnered immense popularity and been nominated for several gaming awards. At the end of the game, you must face Ares in an extremely tough boss battle that has frustrated many gamers. Using the right combination of attacks and magic, you can defeat Ares and complete the game. It is recommended that you save right before you face off against Ares, as you may die several times before you are able to defeat him.

Instructions

- 1
  Use your "Rage of Gods" attack first. This will start off the battle well, as you will enact some early damage against Ares.

  Select the "Army of Hades" attack next for use, and repeatedly press the triangle button to maximize the damage inflicted by this attack.

  Continue repeating this attack, and use portions of your magic to confuse Ares. Ares will ultimately shape shift into a second form.

  Inflict the "Rage of Gods" once Ares has transformed into his second shape. Use the "Army of Hades" attack, then attack with "Poseidon&'s Revenge".

  Protect your family from the waves of villains Ares sends toward them with the "Spirit of Hercules" attack. Use healing potions to revive your family. Do not let them die or you will lose.

  Use your "Rage of God" attack when Ares is holding a giant sword. He will transform to his final shape.

  Wait until Ares pauses, then attack him by pressing the L1 and X buttons at the same time. Repeat this three times, then get close to him and wait until he pauses again. Press the O button and you will defeat Ares.
