Things You'll Need
Instructions
Connect your router to the PlayStation 3. This can be done by plugging the Ethernet cable into the router, and then into the back of the PlayStation. This step can be skipped if you have a wireless router. Make sure your cord is hidden or tucked away so that it is not tripping people who may walk by.
Set up the connection on your PlayStation 3. Turn on your PlayStation and head to the "Settings" menu. On the "Settings" menu, select "Network Settings" and find your connection. If you are plugged into an Ethernet connection, select "Wired." If you choose to connect via a wireless connection, select "Wireless." The PlayStation will search for available wireless connections, and then you will have to select your router. It will try to establish a connection to your router, but it may take a few moments the first time. It will automatically find your Internet connection and you will be all set to go.
Set up your PlayStation network account and start playing. The first time you log on you will have to set up a PlayStation network account. It will ask for basic information, such as your name, address and email address. This will allow you to choose a user name, as well as download demos and game add -ons.
