How to Paint Cars in NASCAR 09

EA Sports' "NASCAR 09" allows gamers to create their own paint scheme on their computer and upload it to the game. Allowing gamers to create their own cars allows gamers to become more involved with the game, providing a personal connection that was not there before. There are some complicated steps to follow to upload their paint schemes, but seeing your own design in-game is worth it.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit the EA Sports' paint booth website. Click the "Design your own car now" link.

    • 2

Pick the race skin you would like to create: Sprint Cup Series, Nationwide Series and Craftsman Truck Series. Click the appropriate vehicle and the file you would like to edit. The PSD format is designed for Adobe Photoshop, the PDN format for Paint.net and the JPEG format is a generic format for nearly any paint program.

    • 3

Open the file in the paint program you want to use. Edit the design within the gray car pieces. Making designs outside of the gray sections will not translate to the in-game cars, so stay in the lines.

    • 4

Visit EA Sports World, EA Sports' social networking site. Sign in or create an account if you do not already have one.

    • 5

Click the "NASCAR 09" page once you are signed in. Click the "Upload" option. Find the edited file on the computer and click "Upload."

    • 6

Turn on the PlayStation 3 and slide the "NASCAR 09" disc into the system. Load the game and go to the paint booth option. Click the "Upload picture" button. Select the new file and click "Upload." The paint scheme will now be applied to your car. Click the "Save" button to save it to your hard drive.
