How to Download Songs on Guitar Hero 3 on the PS3

Developed by Harmonix Music, the "Guitar Hero" video game series allows PlayStation 3 users to play rock songs from various time periods and genres. "Guitar Hero 3" provides a guitar simulation of some of the greatest rock songs, and PS3 owners can download their own library of playable tunes directly to their console by accessing songs through the PlayStation Store.

Instructions

  Turn on your PS3, then sign in.

  Scroll to the PlayStation Network icon on the PlayStation navigation menu, also known as the XrossbarMediaBar, by pressing right or left on your analog stick.

  Press down on your analog stick until you get to the PlayStation Store icon. Select it by pressing "X" on your controller.

  Press the "X" button on the "Game" tab.

  Press the "X" button on the "View All By Title" tab.

  Press the "X" button on the "G" tab.

  Scroll through the list of games until you find "Guitar Hero 3," then select that tab by pressing the "X" button.

  Scroll through the songs for "Guitar Hero 3" until you find one you want. Some songs are free to download, while others require you to purchase them with a PlayStation Network Wallet, which you can refill from your credit card or PlayStation Network Card.

  Select a song by choosing the "Buy Now" option or the "Add to Cart" option by pressing the "X" button. The "Buy Now" option will direct you to the "Checkout" menu while "Add to Cart" allows you to keep shopping for more songs.

  Select the "Confirm Purchase" option from the "Checkout" menu by pressing "X."

  Download the songs to your PS3 Memory Stick or hard drive by selecting the item in the "Checkout" menu.
