Metal Gear Solid 4 for PS3 Cheats

"Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots," released by Kojima Productions in 2008, is the fourth installment in the classic "Metal Gear Solid" series of stealth adventure games. Players take on the role of Snake for a third-person, intense action experience, a departure from the top-view camera of earlier versions of MGS. Although officially there are no cheat codes for the game, players have several opportunities to enter case-sensitive passwords during game play and via the options menu. From extra guns and ammo to nifty iPod songs that cause interesting effects, password cheats can enhance "Metal Gear Solid 4" gaming.

Meeting Otacon
- During the stage of the game that takes place in Shadow Moses, you will meet a man named Otacon. Otacon shares a passcode with Snake you can use to gain access to the rest of the stage. Instead of entering the passcode that is given by Otacon, enter "14893" to gain 100,000 DP. In addition, you can enter "78925" and "13462" for new iPod songs. Although you will receive an "Access Denied" message, the benefits will still take effect. Continue by entering the code Otacon gives you to move forward in the game.
Gun Passwords
- Entering "mekakorkkk" into the password page in the options menu unlocks the Mk.23 pistol. In "Metal Gear Solid 4," the Mk.23 pistol is an identical replica of the real-life Heckler and Koch 23 caliber .45 pistol. Entering "pkhhnwhsjt" in the password page unlocks Patriot, a high-powered and destructive submachine gun.
iPod Unlockables
- Entering "theodore" in the password page unlocks and enables the iPod song "Midnight Shadow." Once enabled, the song creates added stealth when needed. Unlock the "Gekko" iPod song by entering "george" into the password page of the options menu. Playing the song increases stun rate on enemies during game play.
