"Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe" is the only commercially released Mortal Kombat game for PS3. All of the usual suspects are present, like Sub Zero, Scorpion and Raiden. The main appeal of the game is to pit your Mortal Kombat favorites against DC Comics staples like Batman, Superman, The Joker, and Wonder Woman. The game features the classic one-on-one fighting mode, as well as a single-player storyline mode. "Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe" has received a decent amount of critical acclaim from both critics and fans, and Game Informer rated it 8.5/10.

For Playstation Network users, "Mortal Kombat II" is available for download. The game is an exact copy of the one from arcades, Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo in 1993. Not much is known about upcoming MK titles. When Midway Games filed for bankrupty, it left the future of many video game franchises, including Mortal Kombat, in jeopardy. There is a rumor that Mortal Kombat 9 is currently in development through Warner Bros. Games, according to the website Video Games Blogger, but very little tangible evidence can be found to support this claim.
