The Call of Duty franchise has yielded several games for the PlayStation 3, including Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. All of these titles have robust online modes but have suffered from occasional glitches. Fortunately, downloading patches is easy, but you must have online access.

Insert the game disc into your PS3, then launch the game. During the initial load, the game will check for patches.

Click the "OK" button when "An update has been found" appears.

Install the patch. Once the patch finishes downloading, select "Install now."
