Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove the various controllers from the box. The box should contain the various components that make up the drum set (explained in Step 2), a microphone, one guitar controller and strap, a USB hub, and two headset adapters.
Set up the drum kit. The parts you will be using are one set of drum pads, a kick drum pedal, two small rods, two larger rods, and two drum bases. Place the two small rods horizontally in between the drum bases so they are connected. Place them on the ground and fit the two larger rods vertically into the sides of the drum bases. Take the drum pads and fit them into the two larger rods, which will latch in easily. Place the kick drum pedal over the two smaller rods in between the two drum bases. Plug the pedal into the back of the drum pads.
Plug the guitar (or two guitars, if you purchased an extra one) and the drum set into the USB hub. If you are using a wireless instrument, plug the signal receiver into the USB hub. Plug the microphone into the USB port in the drum set. If you want to use a headset, plug it into a remaining USB port, whether it's on the actual PlayStation 3, a nearby guitar, or the drum set.
Plug the USB hub into the PlayStation 3 controller port.
Turn on the Rock Band 2 video game and follow the instructions. If your instruments are not working, check your connections and the batteries in your guitar(s), drum set, and microphone.
