Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 Tips

"Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2" is set in Mexico in the year 2014, shortly after the end of the Mexican conflict that took place in the original game. The Mexican rebels have rebuilt their armies and are plotting to demolish the wall between the United States and Mexico. The player and his teammates have only 72 hours to locate the rebel force and thwart its plans.
  1. Controlling AI Teammates

    • In order to survive each mission, you must be able to keep your teammates alive. Do not designate specific targets for attack unless you are sure there are no other threats present. Your teammates will focus on the designated target instead of responding to an enemy that may be more dangerous. If you miscalculate, issue a regroup command to pull your teammates back out of the combat zone. When in doubt, always take the action that is more likely to protect your team.

Use your extra infantry, tanks or vehicles in dangerous zones before risking your own teammates. If you have a M.U.L.E. with your party, take more chances with your character instead of your AI teammates. The M.U.L.E. can boost your health meter when it is low, but it has no affect on your teammates. Do not set your teammates to aggressive mode until you are in position and ready to engage the enemy. Otherwise, they will rush in and begin firing shots that alert all enemies in the area to your location.

    Scanning for Enemies

    • Use your UAV to scan for enemies before heading into a new area. Unfortunately, the UAV can be located and shot down if it is used for a long period of time, so you must be quick to avoid detection. When scanning a new location, move the UAV first without activating the scanner. Do a quick scan for 10 to 15 seconds at a time and the enemies will not pick up on your activity. The UAV cannot scan through buildings, so watch for enemies hidden inside when you enter.

    Using Weapons

    • Automatic fire is less accurate than burst fire or single shot mode. Even if you only fire a few shots in automatic fire mode and lay off the trigger, those shots will kick more than shots fired in the other modes. Silencers prevent detection by enemy soldiers, but they also reduce the amount of damage your weapon inflicts. Get rid of the handgun as soon as possible. Its range and damage are so poor that you will be outmatched by almost any enemy. Use your explosive packs to place remote IEDs in the locations where the enemy trucks stop and park.
