How to Get Custom Music on GTA VCS for the PSP

With Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, it is possible to make a custom radio station, which will play any song you want it to play. All it takes is a retail or a burned CD, a copy of Vice City Stories and a few minutes to spare on the process.

Instructions

    • 1

Download and Install Rockstar Custom Tracks onto your computer.

    • 2

Download and install Exact Audio Copy PSP Edition. Make sure to install it in the same directory as Rockstar Custom Tracks.

    • 3

Download a save file from Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories from GameFAQs if you don't already have one. Otherwise, skip ahead to Step 6.

    • 4

Connect your PSP to your computer with the USB cable. Set the PSP to USB mode.

    • 5

Unzip the save file you downloaded. Cut and paste the contents to the PSP\\SAVEDATA folder located on your PSP drive.

    • 6

Get the CD with the music you want to rip on it. Put the disc into your CD drive.

    • 7

Open Exact Audio Copy. Wait while it reads your CD. If it fails to read your CD, select the correct drive.

    • 8

Hold the \"Ctrl\" key and select the tracks you want in your game.

    • 9

Click the button that has a picture of a CD pointing to a PSP.

    • 10

Pick any version when the dialog box prompts you to select one.

    • 11

Wait for the PSP to finish converting the audio.

    • 12

      Close Exact Audio Copy.

    • 13

Open your PSP drive on your computer. Navigate to the \"SAVEDATA\" folder.

    • 14

Go through each folder and highlight each folder's \"icon0\" file. The file you are looking for shows an image of a man on a motorcycle. This is the Vice City Stories save file. Take note of which folder this is located in.

    • 15

Return to the \"SAVEDATA\" folder and find the \"*********CUSTOMTRACKS\" folder, where the asterisks represent the version number.

    • 16

Click to rename the folder. You will want to change it to \"[First4letters][First5Numbers]CUSTOMTRACKS\" where the first four letters are from the folder you made a note of, and where the first five numbers are from the same source. Do not include the brackets. For example, the American version would probably be renamed to \"ULUS10160CUSTOMTRACKS\".

    • 17

Unplug the PSP and run Vice City Stories.

    • 18

Pause the game after it loads and navigate to the \"Audio\" menu. Change \"Custom Tracks\" to \"On.\"

    • 19

Unpause and get into a car. The first track should begin to play and you should be able to use the left and right buttons to change the tracks.
