Sonic the Hedgehog
No collection of classic Sega Genesis games would be complete without one of Sega's most iconic characters, Sonic the Hedgehog. "Sega Genesis Collection" for the PSP features both "Sonic the Hedgehog" and "Sonic the Hedgehog 2," which were originally released in 1991 and 1992, respectively.
Phantasy Star
One of Sega's most successful role-playing franchises, "Phantasy Star" is also included in "Sega Genesis Collection" for the PSP. "Phantasy Star II," "Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom" and "Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millenium" are all featured in this compilation. They were originally released for the Sega Genesis game console in 1989, 1991 and 1994, respectively.
Ecco the Dolphin
Making its debut as a franchise in the mid 1990s, the "Ecco the Dolphin" series of games allowed players to take control of a dolphin who had to survive the dangers of the sea. "Ecco the Dolphin," "Ecco: The Tides of Time" and "Ecco Jr." are all available in the "Sega Genesis Collection" for the PSP. These titles were originally released for the Sega Genesis console in 1993, 1994 and 1995, respectively.
Golden Axe
A side-scrolling, action/adventure franchise, "Golden Axe" was a very popular game series in the late 1980s to early 1990s on the original Sega Genesis console. "Golden Axe," Golden Axe II" and "Golden Axe III" are all included in this compilation and were originally released in 1989, 1991 and 1993, respectively.

Twenty-eight separate games are available for play in "Sega Genesis Collection" for the PSP, each of which can be launched from the main menu of the compilation. Playable games include "Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle," "Altered Beast," "Bonanza Bros.," "Columns," "Comix Zone," "Decapattack," "Flicky," "Gain Ground," "Kid Chameleon," "Ristar," "Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi," "Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master," "Super Thunder Blade," "Sword of Vermilion," "Vectorman," "Vectorman 2" and "Virtual Fighter 2."
